For Post-Transition Groups

Growing Skills& Independence

At Navarro Farm, we recognize that life after high school or structured educational programs can be challenging for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Transition and Adult Groups provide young adults with hands-on opportunities to develop life skills, workplace readiness, and social confidence in a supportive, real-world environment.

What to Expect in Our Post-Transition Groups:

  • Skill Development & Job Readiness – Participants engage in meaningful farm activities that teach responsibility, time management, and problem-solving—preparing them for future employment or volunteer opportunities.
  • Animal & Farm Care – Caring for animals, planting crops, and maintaining the farm offer valuable lessons in responsibility and teamwork.
  • Hands-On Learning – From harvesting produce to working at Carter’s Corner farm stand, participants gain experience in customer service, financial transactions, and workplace etiquette.
  • Independent Living Skills – Cooking, cleaning, organization, and daily routines are woven into the program, helping individuals build confidence in their independence.
  • Social & Community Engagement – Meaningful relationships are at the heart of Navarro Farm. Participants grow friendships, strengthen communication skills, and become more connected to their community.

Who Can Participate?

Our Post-Transition Groups are designed for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are looking for the next step after traditional schooling. This program is ideal for those seeking a structured, enriching experience that fosters personal growth and future opportunities.

From Seeds to Smiles

At Navarro Farm, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities cultivate more than just crops—they cultivate confidence, independence, and community. Through the power of agriculture, we plant seeds of purpose and harvest lives transformed.

Where Belonging Takes Root

At Navarro Farm, we understand how important it is for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to find a community. That’s exactly why we built one. Here, all are welcome, all are respected, and all will find a place to grow.
