Robbie’s Story:
Finding Purpose, Building Confidence

Robbie was the first farmer to be hired as staff at Navarro Farm. Each morning, he wakes up before sunrise, eager to put on his staff shirt and take on his responsibilities. Whether leading farm tours, mentoring younger farmers, or tending to the animals, Robbie has found a sense of purpose and pride that wasn’t always there before.

His parents have never seen him happier. “We’ve never had a place where we could drop him off and feel at complete peace,” his mom says. “Here, he is safe, he is loved, and he is growing in ways we never imagined.” Today, Robbie is more than a participant—he’s a leader, an advocate, and a role model for others stepping onto the farm for the first time.

Tommy’s Story:
From Isolation to Inclusion

Before Navarro Farm, Tommy spent most of his time at home, watching YouTube and lacking motivation to get out and engage with the world. His family worried he wasn’t being challenged or given opportunities to learn new skills. That all changed when his mother stumbled upon Navarro Farm.

“The first morning after I told him about it, he was up at 6 a.m., fully dressed, lunchbox packed, saying, ‘I’m going to work,’” she recalls. Now, Tommy actively participates in farm tasks, helps lead field trips, and even learned how to cook—something he never attempted before. “Here, they don’t focus on what they can’t do, they focus on what they can do,” his mother says. “And Tommy can do so much more than we ever realized.”

Terri’s Story:
A Community Like No Other

Like many parents of children with special needs, Terri had always been protective of where she allowed her son, Tommy, to work. “I never felt comfortable dropping him off at a big retail store or a fast-food restaurant. I worried he’d be ignored or overlooked,” she shares. “But here at Navarro Farm, I don’t have a single worry.”

Instead of feeling like just another participant, Tommy is surrounded by a team that supports, teaches, and encourages him. “Every skill he learns, every chore he takes on, and every new friend he makes—it’s all because this place exists,” Terri says. “We need Navarro Farm just as much as our kids do.”

Susan’s Story:
A Volunteer Who Found a Second Home

Susan never expected a simple visit to Navarro Farm’s Worship Sunday to change her life. But after witnessing the farmers lifting their hands in praise, welcoming her with hugs, and radiating joy, she knew she had to come back.

“I signed up to volunteer the very next day,” Susan says. “Every time I leave, I feel lighter, happier. I go home and tell my husband all about my day because it’s just that fulfilling.”

For two years, Susan has been part of the Navarro Farm family—helping farmers care for animals, assisting in cooking classes, and making sure no one is left out. “It’s a place of love, acceptance, and true belonging,” she says. “This is my heaven on earth.”
